Donetsk Defense: Situation Report, 18.05.2016

The situation in the
Donetsk People's Republic has significantly aggravated.
Over the last day the
Ukrainian security officers 557 times fired on the territory of the Republic.
The enemy launched 124 mortar shells of 120 mm caliber and 89 mortar shells of
82 mm caliber. In addition it was fired from the IFV, various types of grenade
launchers and small arms.
By intensifying of
shellings the Ukrainian punishers try to provoke the DPR army to backfire.
However, we don't react to provocations and fully observe the Minsk agreements.
That induces the Ukrainian criminals to shell even more the territory of the
DPR.
In last days the
Ukrainian security officers fired on the localities of: Dokuchayevsk, Spartak,
Yasinovataya, Staronikhailovka, Zaitsevo, the area of the airport and the
Petrovsky district of Donetsk.
The criminal orders
to fire on the territory of the DPR were given by the brigade commanders
Shaptala, Krasilnikov and Sokolov.
As a result of
firings one serviceman died and two got wounded.
Our investigation
continues recording the concentration of the forbidden arms of the enemy along
the line of contact. So, near the localities of:
- to the east of the
locality of Avdeyevka (5 km to the line of contact) there was detected the
location of two 120 mm mortars near the Donetsk filtering station;
- Mirnoye (11 km to
the line of contact) there was detected the location of four self-propelled
artillery systems and two tanks;
- Semigor'ye (6 km to
the line of contact) there were detected seven IFV's of the mechanized company
of the 54thseparate mechanized brigade;
- Zelyonoye Pole (24
km to the line of contact) there was detected the location of four 152 mm
howitzers "MSTA-B";
- Grodovka (31 km to
the line of contact) there was revealed the location of eight 152 mm howitzers
"MSTA-B".
Also, our
investigation detected the AFU military equipment had been brought from places
of storage of the withdrawn arms to the areas of the localities:
- Baranovka (28 km to
the line of contact) - 7 tanks;
- to the east of the
locality of Beryozovka (30 km to the line of contact) - 3 tanks, 1 IFV, in the
same place there were detected 6 cars with ammunition;
- Vozdvizhenka (30 km
to the line of contact) - 11 tanks.
Besides, our
investigation established the fact of preparation of the AFU UAV's for flights
near the locality of Golmovsky for conducting air reconnaissance.
All data on
violations of the Minsk Agreements have been transferred to the representatives
of the JCCC and the OSCE Mission.
Our investigation
continues recording the facts of none-combat losses in the AFU units. In
particular, near the locality of Avdeyevka as a result of the clash between the
military personnel of the 16th separate motorized battalion of
the 58thseparate motor-infantry brigade, one officer got a wound to
the hand of moderately severe. Disagreements of the officer with 3 soldiers of
the 16th battalion who refused to fulfill their task became the cause of the
accident. The gun that the commander tried to use, was taken away by the
personnel and incidentally shot at the officer's hand.

In recent days the
Ukrainian mass media, referring to the press service of the ATO Staff, have
been actively spreading information on the attack of the UAV's on the Ukrainian
military facilities in the depth of the AFU defense. Our investigation
established that the firing on the AFU military units are carried out by
special group of officers of the ATO Staff in interaction along with the
Ukrainian volunteers who had adapted the device of vertical take off and
landing of the Matrix-UAV for dumping the explosive devices from air. All
persons of this group were identified by our investigation, we are collecting
the facts proving their participation in punitive operation.
The attempt of the
punishers to convince the public that we have such means and the possibility of
the use in the depth of the enemy's defense will allow the AFU command to
conduct terrorist attacks against civilians of Ukraine accusing then the DPR
Army of people's death.
We don't rule out
that these means can be used by the Ukrainian security officers in bloody
provocation near Avdeyevka where the forces of the AFU special operations are
already planning to apply the emergency launcher on using of aircraft means of
defeat.

Despite this, our
troops are ready to repel any aggression. Our forces and means are ready, the
morale of the military personnel is at the high level.
